Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland

With over 7 weeks of skating on offer, this is a must do Christmas experience! The Big Wheel stands as three double decker buses and boasts 24 gondolas that can accommodate up to 6 passengers. From the top of the wheel passengers will be able to spot sights like Cardiff Castle, Bute Park and the Principality Stadium. By visiting the Alpine Village, you will be able to enjoy delicious treats in an atmosphere guaranteed to get everyone into the festive mood.


Santa’s Grotto on Queen Street

No Christmas shopping trip would be complete without a visit to Santa. So come hear Rudolph sing and wish Santa and his friendly Elves a Merry Christmas in his spectacular log cabin on Queens Street. Beautifully housed within a wooden chalet in a new location this year; opposite the Queens Arcade entrance. Santa’s Grotto brings sparkle and wonder to any child’s festive season.

This year’s Cardiff Christmas Market will be the largest market ever seen in the capital. Over the festive period there will be 44 days of shopping leading up to Christmas Eve to get your hand-crafted Christmas gift. When shopping at the Cardiff Christmas Market you will see products from a wide selection of local, predominantly Welsh small businesses. Visit the alpine-style wooden chalets and stalls at Cardiff Christmas Market and fill your stockings with festive foods and hand-crafted gifts. Why not enjoy a bratwurst and some mulled wine to warm up while you shop?

Russian Ballet Festival

We’ve got the festive season all wrapped up with three magical production from the prestigious Russian State Ballet & Orchestra of Siberia. Our series of captivating ballets begins with La Fille Mal Gardee’, which is a gentle and comic tale of love thwarted, unrequited and found. Then get ready to be swept off to a mysterious place where nothing is really as it seems in The Nutcracker. The series climaxes with the greatest romantic ballet of all time, Swan Lake, which features Tchaikovsky’s haunting score.
