CARDIFF FRINGE THEATRE FESTIVAL
http://www.cardifffringetheatrefestival.co.uk/
After a first year where audience numbers exceeded all expectations, the festival is back to serve a second helping of fringe theatre to Wales’ capital. This year will be bigger and better, with a programme of 31 performances taking place across 12 venues.
“We are so excited about the programme we have put together. Most important in our selection process was finding acts that work in our festival venues – many of which are not theatres, but places built for socialising. We want to bring out the social side of the theatre-going experience. We’ve put together an eclectic mix – there really is something for everyone.” – Joe Burke, Companies/Artists Co-ordinator, CFTF.

Peter Finnemore: Between the Lines
Chapter, Market Road, Canton, Cardiff, CF5 1QE
'Reading between the lines' is a phrase suggesting concealed, unspoken or avoided narratives. Images are flexible tools for narrative control in journalism, influencing public opinion and setting ideological agendas.
Between the Lines forms part of an ongoing body of photographic work, using newsprint as a source to provide an alternative interpretation of journalistic accounts. Collectively, it is a collage of around 70 fragmented international events, peopled by politicians, celebrities, sportspeople, military personnel, bystanders, victims and demonstrators. The recurring image of an open mouth acts as a silent scream, an open void, a lost voice.
