Huw Warren: do not go gentle
Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama

Swansea-born composer Huw Warren presents his jazz suite ‘Do not go Gentle’ based on the poetry of Dylan Thomas. Commissioned by Brecon Jazz Festival for the Dylan Thomas centenary year, the work is the result of Warren’s lifelong interest in Thomas’ poetry and reflects the inherent musicality of the words. Huw Warren will be supported by the talented jazz musicians of the Royal Welsh College.

Roman Weekend

Soldiers in full authentic costume take over the Castle grounds with an impressive display of their military prowess, with drills and demonstrations of their sophisticated weaponry. Chariot racing for children, themed activities and your chance to Have-a-Go at launching siege weapons are all part of the weekend action.

Everyman Presents: Girlfriends (Musical)

Girlfriends is set during the Second World War at the height of the Blitz and follows recruits of the Women's Auxiliary Air force (WAAF).
Its 1941 and the chances are that only 1 in 5 Bomber Command Aircrew will complete 30 tours of duty. This inspiring and powerful musical shines a light on the pressures, expectations, and dilemmas women faced supporting the war effort and how women rose to the challenge with courage, stoicism, comradery and inner strength.
