For this late May bank holiday why not get out of Cardiff and discover more of picturesque South Wales?
The bustling market town of Cowbridge is situated at the heart of the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan surrounded by stunning countryside and dramatic coastline. Situated a short drive from Cardiff, Cowbridge offers a contrast to the city with a variety of fantastic independent shops along the historic high street and in the delightful surrounding lanes – tasty and local foodie treats, the best in fashion, gifts and design, great restaurants – all contributing to Cowbridge being described as the ‘Bond Street’ of South Wales.
Throughout the year, Cowbridge offers a schedule of special events celebrating all aspects of the town including the glitzy Fashion Week and the children’s favourite, Reindeer Day. The award winning Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival, sees the town at its most vibrant. It is a weekend of culinary excellence and all round family entertainment.

Tickets will also be available online at Eventhalo.com. You can also buy your tickets in advance from Bar 44, The Noble Grape and No.39 on Cowbridge High Street.
You can get to Cowbridge on the X2 bus service, which will be operating between Cardiff, Porthcawl, Bridgend and Cowbridge.
You can find lots more information on their website: https://cowbridgefoodanddrink.org/ including the (mouth-watering) list of exhibitors, or check out Cardiff Life’s article in their May 2019 issue. The festival has loads more to see and do besides the food stalls including live demonstrations, discounts from local Cowbridge traders and craft and local artwork stalls. This is a great opportunity to sample some traditional Welsh and British food; whether it's scotch eggs, pork pies, or fudge.
