Come to the largest firework display in Wales!

Cardiff is organising an annual fireworks event – Sparks in the Park. Join everyone on 2nd November to celebrate Bonfire Night in Bute park this year. There will be two displays and money from your tickets will be used for charity ^^

Our annual Event caters for up to 20000 people to view one of the UKs largest Firework displays, accompanied by Live Presenters from HeartFM, full Fun Fair, Food & Drinks concessions and a carnival atmosphere.

TWO Displays will be taking place again this year; a childrens’ Firework Display (with noise sensitive effects) from 6pm and Wales' Largest Firework Display set to entertain from 7pm onwards.

ALL proceeds raised from the Event will be distributed to Charity, arranged by Cardiff Round Table.

Event Programme:

Event opens at 4:30pm.

Kids Entertainment "Ed Sheeran Tribute" at 5:00pm.

Junior Display is scheduled for 6:00pm.

BONFIRE lighting at 6:30pm.

Main entertainment "The Rocket Man" at 6:45pm.

Main Display is scheduled for 7pm.

Closing entertainment "The Rocket Man" at 7:30pm.

Event closed at 9:00pm.

Martin Tinney Gallery was established in Cardiff in 1992 and is now considered to be Wales’ premier private commercial art gallery.

The gallery specialises in Welsh and Wales-based artists of the highest quality, past and present. We moved to our current premises in 2002, after a major refurbishment of a 19th century townhouse with purpose-built extension, giving three floors of beautiful exhibition space.

The return of Dave Courtney

Have you ever heard of Dave Courtney?

He is the infamous ex-London gangster known all over the world! Perhaps you know him for his friendship with other well known hard men such as the Krays, Roy Shaw and Lenny McLean.

If you are familiar with who we are talking about you will also understand that his life story is not the
happiest.

Dave Courtney has been shot, stabbed, has his nose bitten off (after they sewed it back on) and
has had to kill to stay alive. He has been involved in debt collecting, minding clubs,
assault, contraband and murder (to name but a few things). Courtney was previously better
known as 'the yellow pages of the Underworld' and is sometimes referred to in the press as 'the
most feared man in Britain'.

Now, Dave Courtney lives in his castle in London and today is a best selling author.

March for Men

1 Marathon. 1 Cause: SAVE LIVES!

You might be thinking, “What? A marathon to save lives? How is this possible?!”.

Well yes. It is possible!

The name of this race is “March for Men” and it is a charity marathon to raise funds for Prostate Cancer. It is a family-friendly event where you can walk along Pontcanna Fields and have fun with your friends or your family while you are helping to fight cancer.

The purpose of the charity is to raise funds needed for vital research into the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, with the aim of saving men’s lives. To collect money the charity encourages walkers to back their campaign by completing a 2 km, 5 km or 10 km route around the park.

What you need to know:

1. You can choose from a 2k, 5k or 10k route (the shortest distance is fully accessible for people using wheelchairs or with pushchairs)
2. There is a registration fee of £10 and a suggested fundraising target of £50
3. Children under 18 are free but have to be accompanied by a guardian over 18
4. All routes will be signed and marshalled (no need for a map)

The marathon will take place at Pontcanna Fields on Sunday 16th June 2019, from 10:00am until 3:00pm. There isn't any age restrictions and dogs are welcome of course.

It is also the Father's day, so what are you waiting for?! Take the whole family and participate in the March for Men! Now we just have to hope the weather is good for our walkers and runners, else it will be a very muddy trek through the fields! We wish everyone participating the best of luck!

Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival

For this late May bank holiday why not get out of Cardiff and discover more of picturesque South Wales?

You can get to Cowbridge on the X2 bus service, which will be operating between Cardiff, Porthcawl, Bridgend and Cowbridge.
