Here is more from WalesOnline:

Winter Wonderland opens its doors in Cardiff on Friday, November 8, 2019, which can only mean one thing - it's officially the Christmas season in the Welsh capital.

Perfect for family days out, fun with friends or even romantic dates on winter nights, the annual festive fanfare is always well received in the Welsh capital
Launching at 12pm on Friday, and with a totally new layout to previous years, we were lucky enough to get a sneak preview of what to expect before doors opened to the public.

And it didn't disappoint.

What to expect:

Last year's massive drop tower might be gone - but it's been replaced with an equally impressive Big Wheel.

It offers the same stunning views over the city just without the horrible anticipation of falling 90metres to the ground.

But arguably this year's main attraction is the Alpine Ice Trail that's taken over a huge chunk of the site. The trail is the only one of its kind in the UK - with the nearest one being found in Vienna. Discussing the trail, Jason Venables from organising team Eleventh Hour, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to announce our Alpine Ice Trail - it’s definitely something we know is really going to ‘wow’ our guests this year.

"Both our ice rink and ice trail are accessible for all and we look forward to welcoming everyone on site with us for 2019."
