Unique Film Festival in Cardiff!


If you are wondering what to do this weekend, look no further. The Italian Film Festival 2019 is here! 


From Thursday 14th November to Sunday 17th November, the IFFC offers
 a series of unique, award-winning films in Pier Pavilion, Penarth and Chapter Arts Centre. Most of them are connected to Italian minority and migrant languages in honour of 2019 being The International Year of Indigenous Languages. Films featured include a ''look at the issue of migration from the perspective of two adolescents'' in ''Laura Lucchetti’s critically acclaimed drama Twin Flower and Phaim Bhuyan’s witty romantic comedy Bangla''; but also ''An absolute gripping revision of the myth of the birth of Rome and the tale of the twins suckled by the She-wolf'' in Romulus and Remus: The First King. 



So if you fancy hearing some Arbarësh, Sardinian or Proto-Italic, or just want to see an interesting piece of visual art, join the event!

The Italian Film Festival Cardiff brings to the screens of Wales a dynamic and diverse portrait of contemporary Italy with its beauty, complexity and contradictions. The selection of cutting edge films feature all genres of Italian cinematography with a strong emphasis on new narrative forms and independent productions. During the past four years the Festival has become a lively space for directors, actors and producers from both sides of the Channel. Wales has always had an international aspect to its culture and a long tradition of being open to the world. The Italian Film Festival Cardiff aspires to be a part of Wales’ increasingly international artistic profile.
